ACUPUNCTURE IS AN ANCIENT HEALING ART THAT HAS BEEN PRACTICED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS IN EAST ASIA, AND SPREAD AROUND THE WORLD IN THE 20th CENTURY.
It involves inserting very thin acupuncture needles at discrete body location called “acupuncture points”. These acupuncture points are based on a unique vessel system called “meridians” which cover our body from head to toe based on 12 meridians. Based on classic teaching, acupuncture can improve blood circulation, immune system function and cellular metabolism.
Acupuncture has many uses beyond pain relief. While acupuncture works well and evidence-based research supports acupuncture being used to treat pain related conditions, it is also very effective in treating many other health conditions including:
- male/female hormonal related conditions such as irregular menstrual cycle, fertility, PCOS
- prostate enlargement,
- Pre/postmenopausal symptoms such as hot flashes
- Insomnia.
- Post-stroke symptoms such as facial paralysis.
- Digestive issues, i.e. constipation, diarrhoea, IBS.
